I have accomplished reactions like group protection/ deprotection, hydrolysis, catalytic hydrogenation, impurity profiling, cyclization, esterification, etc., and their scale-up to plant level. I have prepared TTDs and successfully transferred process technologies for Altretamine and New Taxol Side-chain, at the USFDA approved Kalyani (W.B.) plant of Fresenius Kabi Oncology Limited. In addition, process technologies for Melphalan and Bicalutamide were also developed. The methods and techniques to overcome process patent restrictions were also studied and implemented, with the aim to develop most economical manufacturing processes. At HIPER, I am looking after M.Pharm. (Pharmaceutical Chemistry) course.
My doctoral thesis research has centered on the identification and exploring the Drug potential from various active principles derived from a wide range of natural sources, including marine fauna. It also encompasses the preparation of their suitable semi-synthetic derivatives. The application of techniques like NMR, FABMS, HPLC, High-Throughput screening, for evaluation of chemical and biological potential of various compounds, has formed the core part of my work.
